Ryu Tangle
"Ryu Tangle is a 2D platformer that has the player navigating both environmental hazards as well as enemies in an attempt to collect three crystals."
In this project I explored:
An Improved AI patrol system.
- Allowing for a more dynamic movement pattern for the AI.Niagara Systems.
- Used to create effects for pickups, attacks and death animations.Use of fixed, transitioning cameras.
- To frame the play areas and allow for looping, "endless" areas.

Developed in UE4.27 using Blueprints.
An interesting project from the off. Taking what I had learned from Lumina and applying it to a 2D game in an engine that wouldn't necessarily be a go to for 2D development challenged me more in design, over any technical aspects, barring creating state machines inside of the actor as apposed to in an animation blueprint, which felt slightly limiting in what I could achieve.
I repurposed and improved upon the patrol system that I created during the development of Lumina and implemented them into the enemies found in this prototype.
In Lumina, this system had the possibility of the enemy choosing the position they were currently in, limiting how dynamic it was, leaving it feeling static and less challenging,
